I know I said this before, but I am so pumped The Airborne Toxic Event is playing at the BlackCat this Thursday (March 12th)! This is like the early start of SXSW for me. I've seen them a number of times now, but my first time was at SXSW last year. God that was a great show!
I love their live shows so much that last summer I did a one day trip to NYC to catch them playing an opening act at Pianos in one of the smallest back rooms I have ever been in. Erica went with me and did me one day better and caught them at Webster Hall the next day. But the show at Pianos was the "good" show. ATE rocked that little bar! She did an excellent job in her blog of the show. Since then I have been able to catch them a couple of times playing at DC9. And, even though I am seeing them this week, I am still trying to find a way to catch them at SXSW next week at least one more time. :-)
