I see a lot of shows, but last night Free Energy reminded me what pure beauty Rock and Roll can be! The guys just seemed to genuinely enjoy playing and being on the stage. Lots of eye contact with the audience and lots of interaction. It probably also helps I was a fan of Thin Lizzy. And I think I hear a little Cheap Trick in there as well...
DC9 was the perfect venue to see Free Energy for the first time. Nice intimate (read as: small) club with a good sound system. We were able to grab a spot just a few feet away from the stage, so the experience couldn't have been better. I am betting next time they come to town it will be at a much larger venue (i.e. the 9:30 Club).
