I saw Silversun Pickups and Muse on Monday! Awesome twofer show! And we had floor tickets so great sound and view. If you ask me, that show was what rock and roll is all about!
Tonight .fun is opening for Jack's Mannequin at the 9:30 Club. I have to admit I am going more for .fun than for Jack's Mannequin. If you liked The Format then .fun is the band for you! You have to love their sticky sweet pop sound!
On Sunday the 7th Justin Townes Earle is playing at the Birchmere. I have never seen him live so I am looking forward to the show.
Mayer Hawthorne & the County are playing at the Rock and Roll Hotel on Wednesday the 10th.
One of the highlights of the month is Matthew Ryan playing at Iota on Friday the 12th! You have to come out to catch what should be an awesome show in a great intimate venue.
Free Energy is playing at DC9 on Saturday the 14th.
And then we have the mighty mighty SXSW in Austin, TX! Hundreds of bands playing over four days! Between day parties and the show case sets at night I am hoping to get in 40 to 50 shows in those 4 days! Should be a blast!
To end the month Wilco is playing at the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD. Of course I wasn't able to get a ticket yet. I am hoping for a late drop of extra tickets...
In April we continue the roll of shows with Nada Surf and Vampire Weekend kicking off the month!
I have tickets to Spoon, BRMC and Frightened Rabbit, at the moment.
