With the New Year comes the thaw of new shows (I wish this cold snap was thawing too!)! The frig finally has a few tickets on it for up coming shows again. So for January:

Coming up tomorrow, Saturday, the 15th is Eli Paperboy Reed & The True Loves playing at the Rock and Roll Hotel.
The next week on Saturday, the 22nd Evan Dando (of the Lemon Heads) and Julianna Hatfield w/ Lady Lamb the Beekeeper are playing at Iota. I saw Evan Dando play at the Big Star tribute for Alex Chilton at SXSW last year. He had the best quote of the night.
The very next day John McCauley of Deer Tick is playing the Rock and Roll Hotel on Sunday, January 23rd at 8:30 PM.
And to end the month on a high note Dr. Dog with The Head and The Heart is playing the 9:30 Club on Friday and Saturday the 28th and 29th. I saw Dr. Dog play the Filter party at SXSW last year and loved their live set!

And I know I am jumping into February, but Girl Talk is playing the 9:30 Club on Tuesday and Wednesday (2/1 and 2/2/2011)! If you have never seen a Girl Talk show you are missing out in life. I was able to see Girl Talk play the Virgin Fest in 2009 and he blew my mind. What a party! But, of course, the pre-sale and the on-sale both sold out in seconds and I couldn't get a ticket at all. If you have one and are willing to sell it for close to face value I would love to go to the show!
